Located on Columbia Point, the Library and Museum is set on a ten acre park landscaped with pine trees, shrubs and wild roses reminiscent of the landscape of Cape Cod familiar to President Kennedy.

John F. Kennedy Library mapExperience the Museum through the three theaters, period settings, and 25 dramatic multimedia exhibits, and enter the recreated world of the Kennedy Presidency for a “first-hand” experience of John F. Kennedy’s life, legacy, and leadership.

Shop in the Museum Store or dine in the JFK Café. Walk along the Harborwalk or picnic on the beautiful grounds at the Harbor’s edge. From May to October, President Kennedy’s 26′ sailboat Victura is on display on the grounds.

The Museum is open 7 days per week, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with the exception of New Year’s, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. The last Introductory Film of the day is at 3:55 p.m.

Museum Admission: Adults $12.00, Seniors (62 and over) and Students (with valid college ID) $10.00, Ages 13-17 $9.00, Children 12 and under are free.
Group visits of 12 or more are eligible for a group visit discount with advance reservations.
Students in grades K-12 booked through a New England School on an educational group tour are eligible for free admission. Please contact the Group Tours office for more information at 617.514.1589.

The Library and Museum is easily accessed by public transportation. Take the MBTA Rapid Transit, Red Line (any red line train) to JFK/UMASS Station. There is a free shuttle bus to the Library every 20 minutes beginning at 8:00 a.m. and running until Museum closing. Please take the buses marked ‘JFK.’

Walk-In Visitor Programs
Highlights Tours: Travel back in time to the early 1960s for an engaging, interactive look at one of the most important times in American history. Family-friendly docent-led Highlights Tours of the Museum’s exhibits are free with admission. The items you’ll explore include footage from the first televised debate, the rocking chair President Kennedy used in the Oval Office, hand-painted closet doors from Mrs. Kennedy’s dressing room, doodles from Cuban Missile Crisis meetings, and a piece of the Berlin Wall.

Stranded at Sea: The PT-109 Story Hands-On Cart: Stranded at Sea is a 25-minute hands-on experience for visitors of all ages. Come hear the story of John F. Kennedy’s patrol torpedo boat collision with a Japanese destroyer during World War II, and the crew’s six-day struggle for survival. Read Kennedy’s letters home describing Navy life, follow the path of the collision and rescue, and see the real coconut message that helped save the crew of PT-109.
