Dallas Summer Musicals, Inc. (DSM) is the largest producer of live theatrical entertainment in the Southwest, the second oldest summer theater organization in the United States, and the sixth largest non-profit theater company. DSM has been entertaining North Texas audiences with the finest in live, musical theater entertainment since 1941. In addition to presenting national Broadway tours, DSM also produces shows on Broadway, presents and tours local productions, and is involved in developing new works. Dallas Summer Musicals’ affiliates include DSM Management Group, Inc. (DSMMGI), which manages the Music Hall at Fair Park.

Dallas Summer Musicals encourages parents to introduce their children to live theater when they think the child is ready for the experience. We expect that parents will take into account the subject and nature of the show in question; the age, maturity, and interest level of the child; and would be considerate of the other patrons seated near them. Many children will enjoy the experience of going to a show even if they are not able or interested in staying for the entire performance.

Dallas Summer Musicals requires that all children one year old or older have a ticket for admittance to the theater. While children less than a year old could enter without paying admission, we would expect that parents will not bring babies to the theater. For children less than four years old, parents may purchase a less expensive ticket for their child and then have the child sit in their lap in a more expensive section, as long as it does not impose on other patrons. Dallas Summer Musicals requires that children four years old or older sit in their own seat. Booster seats are available to rent for a nominal fee, while supplies last.

Some shows and their producers may have requirements that supersede the DSM Child Policy, such as requiring all patrons, regardless of age, to have a ticket.
