A Story of Transformation: From Warehouse District to Culinary Destination
Trinity Groves began as a concept in 2005, when investors Phil Romano (founder of Macaroni Grill and Fuddruckers) and his partners started assembling land in this long-neglected industrial area near the Trinity River. The opening of the stunning Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge in 2012—a Santiago Calatrava-designed cable-stayed bridge—provided the catalyst for the area’s dramatic transformation. What locals once called a “bridge to nowhere” had suddenly become a bridge to somewhere special.
The developers took an unconventional approach: rather than building new apartments or offices first, they launched the project with a restaurant incubator concept that would create a destination and build a sense of place. The first two restaurants opened in 2012, and the district has since grown to include more than a dozen eateries housed in rehabilitated former warehouses.
The Restaurants: A World of Flavors
Trinity Groves is renowned for its incredible variety of cuisines, offering everything from upscale steak to authentic Mexican fare. Restaurants are connected by a massive covered patio, making it an ideal spot for dining and socializing nearly year-round.
